Spike Tools – Set of 2
WARNING: Train with caution while using this equipment.
Take your knife training to a new level with this simple and ingenious tool.
It consists of a smooth and round wooden handle and two fairly sharp spikes or nails, one on each end.
It was called “Ковырялка” or Picker in the Russian street fights. Easy to hide, to make and to take apart; potentially very destructive.
When used with calmness and caution, the Spike Tools are excellent training weapons to develop dexterity, wrist control and reaction time. They allow you to see the limitations of your wrist movements and explore different angles of contact. The attacking hand can be hooked with a spike and controlled with no cutting.
Even more than a knife, the spike tools allow to change the trajectory of movement very quickly, therefore, there is no stopping or pauses in the movements of the attacker and defender. Because ragged movements will quickly lead to cuts, the users are forced to move smoothly and continuously. The tools can be used for poking work, where the smaller tool is similar to control with a small knife, and the longer tool is similar to a large knife.
Best used as a training set of the longer and the shorter spike for more variety of applications. Can work with one hand at a time or both, with one partner armed or both.
Sold as a set of 2, one long spike tool and one short spike tool.

I used this during training in class. Very efficient, it helps guide the movement while it mimics a knife attack.

Very happy with this purchase. These tools add new dimension and sensitivity to my training.

I have a lot of experience with weapon confrontations and I must say that this tool is really functional and diverse. It allows all ranges of movement in training, emphasizes the Systema figure 8, and keeps your hand always in the proper strike position. I found that when you practice with it, the injury is minimal – you know that you got hit without getting cut. Because you use both ends, it keeps you non-focused on the blade as you would with a knife. Easy to carry, great to train!
