It was a valuable opportunity to learn from Onishi-sensei and Vladimir-sensei on the same topic. It was very interesting to see the common elements in the different perspectives of teaching the same subject. This time, I learned that the use of weapons makes it easier to become aware of one’s own physical and psychological tensions. What I found interesting about the physical movements of both Onishi-sensei and Vladimir-sensei was that the movement of the weapons did not constrain their body movements. In particular, I felt that the position of the head of both of them was not affected by other parts of the body. I also felt that the movement was created when the body changed from tension to relaxation. The amount of information I learned in this Seminar was so large that I needed time to organize what I learned. This class made me realize that I need to review my daily practice and daily life so that physical and psychological tension does not affect other parts of my body.

I very much enjoyed learning about internal sensitivities, and about internal dialogue with pain, how to relax it to reduce the wave of tension, learning how to take a hit so that we can better anticipate it and how to feel lightness.
