A helpful breathing and awareness exercise to detect muscle tension that has become a habit and to gain deep relaxation.
Take 10 minutes to practice gentle breath holds and sense your feet, hips, spine, shoulders, arms and head.
As this drill makes you focus on what goes on inside you, it distracts from the information and stress that comes from the outside.
Try this drill a few times to become more relaxed and add your own variations.
Audio file – listen and relax for 10 minutes.

I remember this great exercise from the Against Tension seminar. Thank you for making this available for us. I am happy to practice it on my own now.

Thank you very much for making this delightful resource available in these tense and stressful times, I do find it melts tension especially at the end of a busy day. As I have just turned 68, I find the health benefits of Systema breathing and other techniques to be most beneficial and the odds of having to defend myself becoming lower and lower.
