This is an excellent instructional set for beginners. It takes you through the basics of hand-to-hand standing combat. No groundwork or breath-work is addressed here. The exercises slowly allow you do develop the basic skills for evading, defend, and attacking. For practicing these exercises you need a training partner. My only recommendation is that you find a patient training partner. All my family members are trained in other martial arts and want to move strait to full-contact sparring immediately. You need to master the exercises at slow speed before you speed up and eventually begin sparring. I highly recommend this to any beginners at Systema.

What captivated me was the simplicity and naturalness of the movements, whose cadence has the plasticity of a dance more than a combat. With the learning of breathing and relaxation techniques, the more we improve in the art, the less we get tired in training and the more efficient we become, because the movements always pursue the best result with the lowest energy consumption.
