WARRIORS’ WEEKEND
2-Day Seminar with Vladimir Vasiliev and Systema guest instructors
December 6-7, 2025 | Systema HQ Toronto gym
A good warrior is a healthy warrior.
On Day 1, Vladimir will focus on the key practices to gain a strong, agile, and healthy body. He will take you through inspiring tasks to maximize your physical potential. Some exercises will be challenging and some relaxing, all aimed at removing stress, rejuvenating, and building a powerful foundation for your combative skills.
Here are some of the concepts you will study:
– Feel the onset and accumulation of illness, damage or stress and reverse the process to healing and strength.
– Realize the damage from uncontrolled breath holds and gain full control of your breathing.
– Apply breathing and movement to avoid negative thoughts and to grow stamina and spirit.
On Day 2, Vladimir will utilize the heath foundation from Day 1 and take you into the combative elements of Systema. He will help you to feel skilled and comfortable handling any threat or attack.
The training will include:
– Deeper understanding of what natural movements are.
– Tension-free work against holds, strikes, kicks, and weapons.
– Thorough work on strikes – precise and powerful, subtle and invisible, short and instant.
For all levels of experience.
Instructor renewals and new evaluations available at the seminar.
The last portion of this big event will be a 30-minute Breathwork Certification Workshop, where Vladimir will answer Systema Breathing questions and provide deeper insights into breath training and teaching. All currently certified Systema Breathwork Instructors can have their certifications renewed, and new applications will be accepted. Please indicate if you are interested in attending this workshop when you submit your registration for this event.
Guest Instructors and Topics:
Saturday, December 6th at 11:30AM – Kevin Juliano from Buffalo, NY
Kevin Juliano is the head instructor at Western New York Systema, training in Systema for over 20 years and certified by Vladimir Vasiliev. He is also a practitioner and instructor of acupuncture, massage, traditional Chinese medical theory, Chinese herbal medicine and training for clinical practice.
Topic: MUSCLE PRESSURE AND RELEASE
Pressure from the body weight can be used to release tension from muscles in the body. In order to do this work, we must first prepare ourselves before we work on another person. Kevin will do some preparatory exercises combined with breathing to first get into the correct state and then explore massage focused on applying pressure to remove tension from the body. Finally, Kevin will combine pressure with joint movement to free up the joints in the body.
Sunday, December 7th at 11:00AM – Pete Rogers from Kingston, Ontario
Pete Rogers was a Combatives Instructor for various units with the CAF (Canadian Armed Forces), with a 20-year career – now retired. He has worked in various environments which required development and utilization of all senses to achieve the desired results. Pete has also been training and teaching Systema for over 20 years.
Topic: VIOLENT ATTACKER: CONTROL AND RESOLVE
You are there!….You survived the assailants attack and managed to come out in a dominant position…. Now what?!
Do you allow them to get up? Walk away? Are they still violent or calm?
Are you a civilian that was simply dragged into a sudden and violent event, and simply wants to de-escalate and leave?
Are you a professional that now must do further work to restrain the assailant or is there a requirement for lethal force?
Violent behaviour must be resolved with control. Control of the space, the movement, the attacker, and of ourselves! Study methods to control a violently resisting opponent and apply different types of finishing modalities with and without weapons, restraints and holds, and escorting alone or as a team.

Taizo Akiyama –
Thank you sincerely for the seminar. I joined via Zoom, and it was a precious opportunity to learn. The practices during the seminar left many deep impressions. In the breathing exercises, I realized how important it is to notice the subtle tension of the supporting muscles and to breathe in a way that allows them to remain free. The slow walking practice reminded me of an online class with Mikhail-sensei in which we walked three meters over the course of five minutes. This brought back how even the smallest steps can reveal hidden tensions—and how awareness, patiently applied, can gently release them. Although I trained alone, it was very valuable to observe the movements of the other participants on screen. Watching their sensitivity and interactions—both with contact and without—helped me reflect on how awareness extends naturally into care for others, and how such qualities quietly guide us toward becoming better human beings. Calmness and gratitude felt like practical companions to every movement. There were two brief moments when the broadcast connection faltered, and then promptly returned. I recalled something Daniil-sensei once mentioned—that when Mikhail-sensei is involved, technology sometimes misbehaves—and in those moments I felt as if Mikhail-sensei might be nearby. I would also like to thank the camera operator: the video was restored quickly, and the framing made it easy to see participants’ movements, which helped immensely. For me, the whole session became a clear, quiet time in which humility, awareness, and thankfulness could settle. I hope to carry this sense of stillness into daily life. Thank you again for your warm and generous teaching. I pray for the health and happiness of everyone at Systema HQ Toronto and of all participants.
Kristen Lewis –
I want to first thank you all at Systema HQ for a wonderful seminar. I returned to Ottawa energized, free, and full of power and can see this already benefiting those I work with. Thank you, so much.
