I recently attended Vladimir’s and Valerie’s seminars and special classes in both Osaka and Tokyo. In all honesty they were some of the most eye opening, but always enjoyable training sessions I have had in my 25+ years of martial arts training and well worth the trip from Australia to take part in.

This workout includes walking, stretching and self-massage while moving. Such self-massage, walking drills and many other practices are quite unique and only existent in Systema.

Valerie’s wealth of knowledge about Systema and health science allows her to give great insight into the rejuvenating power of Systema breath work. While introducing each exercise, Valerie offers useful anatomical explanations for why and how these unique Systema practices cultivate the health, vitality and longevity of the body. A rich variety of exercises are presented to explore breathing, including stretching, massage, postural correction, breath holds, core strengthening and neurological conditioning. Valerie also gives specific tips to prevent injury, maximise the natural functionings of the body, and build strength and power within the body and psyche. I particularly enjoyed the methods shown for increasing lung capacity, and found makes a huge difference to breath quality and relaxation levels. Valerie’s holistic and methodical approach to Systema breathing provides something for everybody. I’d recommend this video series for anyone wanting to deepen their martial arts practice, but also for those who are looking for ways to increase general performance and enjoyment in life.

I have really enjoyed watching Valerie’s Breath and Body Lite classes via digital download! As someone who just gave birth last year, I haven’t been as active as I should be. It gives me confidence to watch a woman do the exercises that I always see my husband do. Watching the videos helps motivate me to get moving, while relaxing me and making me more aware of my posture and the tension I have from holding a baby all the time. It will also be beneficial to me when I go back to work in a few months where I will be spending 12-hour days and nights on my feet in a high stress job. I was also surprised at how much it got my brain working! I highly recommend this video not only to Systema practitioners, but to those with no experience in martial arts as well to give you tools for daily life. Thanks, Valerie!

About 10 years ago, seeing how much my wife enjoys breath training, I opened Breathwork classes for her at our Systema HQ Toronto school. Valerie has been taking these classes regularly all these years along with many other students at our school. Great video! I only watched it once so far, but will watch it many more times. Valerie’s explanations are very clear and very helpful. I am inspired to improve my posture and it has gotten better already. She explains how to do it. Valerie’s lesson is one of those things that seems subtle, but really works!
