Taizo Akiyama –
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude for yesterday’s online class. It was a meaningful day for me. Listening to Brendon-sensei speak in his own words was deeply moving. His clarity, presence, and natural quality of movement were truly inspiring. In my work with patients recovering from neurological conditions, I often see how difficult it can be to regain ease and freedom of movement. Witnessing his balance, smoothness, and expressiveness reminded me once again of the quiet strength that Systema cultivates—not only in the body, but gently within one’s inner life. I was also touched by the way Adam-sensei offered steady and thoughtful support to Brendon-sensei throughout the class. His timing, explanations, and the way he expanded upon Brendon-sensei’s words reflected a warm and intuitive connection that only those who share a deep family bond can express. Their quiet harmony made me reflect on how such support and understanding are not only valuable in training, but also essential for living daily life with grace and balance. The class renewed my awareness of the importance of breathing, and of how Systema and the small acts of daily prayer can quietly support one another in the rhythms of everyday life. I would also like to thank the camera operator for the clear and beautifully framed video. It allowed the subtle movements to be followed with ease, which supported the learning greatly. If possible, I would be grateful to revisit this session again in the future, perhaps through Patreon. I continue to keep Brendon-sensei’s recovery in my thoughts and prayers, and I sincerely wish for the health and happiness of everyone at Systema HQ Toronto.
