Warrior’s Path: In dialogue with Father Vladimir Malchenko,
the Very Rev. Mitred Archpriest and Rector of The Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Toronto,
with over 50 years of service.
Father Vladimir is a graduate of the Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary in Jordanville, New York. He was ordained to the Holy Priesthood in 1973 and has always been with the Holy Trinity parish in Toronto. Throughout the years of Father Vladimir being the prior, the Holy Trinity parish has become the biggest Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia. Father Vladimir has been serving the Liturgies, Vespers, Holy Mysteries and Services almost every day and is in charge of the church school for children. For his outstanding diligence, dedication and hard work, the Mitred Archpriest Vladimir Malchenko received multiple awards such as the Church Order “The Sign”, Third Degree.
Over the years, Rev. Father Vladimir has been a very big support and inspiration for Systema HQ Toronto, a true kind and wise friend to the Systema founders and numerous practitioners.
Proceeds from this session will be donated to the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church Toronto.
Father Vladimir will provide insightful answers to the following questions:
- How to connect breathing and prayer?
- How can we view the injustice that takes place in the world?
- I feel that if I choose to embrace the faith, it is a big responsibility. If I accept that I believe, how do I justify not following every single principle or requirement?
- How to balance more traditional principles of Orthodoxy with the modern lifestyle and views?
- Every religion claims they are the best. As someone new to religion, how do you know which one to come to?
Open to all. Your questions are welcome. Please send ahead of time or ask during the discussion.
Reception time starts 5-10 minutes before the class.
