Warrior’s Path by Rev. Father Malchenko
A unique Q&A Session with the Very Rev. Fr. Vladimir Malchenko, a man of deep faith and wisdom, for those seeking guidance on the spiritual journey of the warrior.
Fr. Vladimir offered profound insights into questions such as:
- How to connect breathing with prayer?
- How can we view the injustice that takes place in the world?
- I am afraid that if I choose to embrace the faith, it will be a big responsibility. If I accept that I do believe, how do I justify not following every single guideline or requirement?
- How to balance more traditional principles of Orthodoxy with the modern lifestyle and views?
- Every religion claims they are the best. As someone new to religion, how do you know which one to come to?
- Do you have an introduction to the Orthodox Christianity reading list?
- What is the Orthodox view of how stress and negative situations affect the body and health? How can this impact be reduced with spiritual practice?

Taizo Akiyama –
Thank you very much for offering this profound and spiritually enriching seminar. Today’s exchange reminded me of the deep relationship between breath, heart, and prayer — how “what helps us to achieve the constant rhythm of prayer is our breathing, which is connected to our heart.” These words from Father Vladimir-sensei echoed throughout the seminar and helped me reflect on my own practices more sincerely. I was also particularly moved by the reminder that “the ultimate potential of any human being is to know yourself… to neutralize the sinful passions of our heart.” This struck me not only as a personal invitation, but also as a calling to grow through spiritual struggle and humility. I also appreciate the book recommendations. I have already started looking into “What is Spiritual Life”. It is a quiet blessing to see the sincere care and wisdom with which this dialogue was prepared and offered.
Vladimir Vasiliev –
I am always amazed at the simplicity of Father Vladimir’s conversations, yet they are so deep and apply directly to our lives. Some people have cold wisdom, but Father Vladimir’s wisdom is very warm, and you want to talk to him. I see how his answers always help people.
