Build Your Strike
by Vladimir Vasiliev
In this film, Vladimir shows the training set to develop correct strikes. Correct means no injury to yourself from delivering the strike. This also means minimal damage to the opponent. Our goal is to avoid emotional strikes, because they are the ones causing needless injury. Correct striking means control.

So many excellent tips in this film! I especially liked the section where Vladimir explains how restriction in the shoulders limits the strikes. He shows how to overcome it too. Thank you! Well done.

It’s all about the energy!
After many years training in martial arts, the Systema strikes are by far the most effective. When I started training in Systema I could not believe the amount of power they can deliver from any distance (even very close). In this class I learned how to prepare my body to be relaxed enough so I don’t stop the wave of energy (with tension) coming from the body through the fists and into my opponent, and how to keep being relaxed even after contacting my opponent when I strike.
This concept is so interesting and completely opposite to most other martial arts out there. And yet allowing the body to be relaxed without any tension and strike with relaxation makes a world of difference – instead of striking the surface it is possible to strike the core and manipulate your opponent’s internal structure.
This also allows us to strike in order to heal – to find where the body is locked or tense and allow ourselves and our partners to heal any injuries.
Thank you Vladimir! I recommend this to anyone who wants to upgrade their strikes to the next level.
