Breathe to Recover
with Hoy Chan
Hoy Chan is a highly experienced Systema HQ Toronto instructor, training and teaching with Vladimir Vasiliev since 2007, with a particular expertise in sensitivity work. He has an extensive background in Brazilian Jiujitsu, Silat and Internal Chinese martial arts (chi kung). Hoy is also a national medalist in Shotokan Karate and Shaolin Kung Fu.
In this online Systema class, discover how to use the power of breath to accelerate recovery, restore mobility, and build resilience—whether you’re overcoming injuries, managing chronic discomfort, or simply looking to feel better in your body.
Focusing on the knees and other major joints, this class will guide you through practical, step-by-step techniques to ease tension, improve circulation, and support natural healing.
What You’ll Learn:
- The Layers of Breathwork: a structured approach to restore balance and vitality, addressing skin and fascia, muscles, ligaments, tendons, and bone.
- How to regulate tension and relaxation within each layer of the body for optimal recovery.
- How to harness breath in both conscious and hypnagogic (semi-conscious) states—the latter being a deeply restorative state proven to support the body’s natural healing processes.
This session is for everyone—Systema practitioners, athletes, and non-martial artists alike. Whether you’re young, older, active, or recovering, these breathwork techniques offer tools to help you heal, move freely, and regain confidence in your body.
Heal, recover, and move freely with Systema breathwork!
