RESET THE KNEES by Bill Parravano, Osteopathy specialist
Learn how to improve bending, extending and putting weight on the knee, and to sustain a strong healthy joint.
Bill has been working with the knees and knee-related injuries since 1999. He has over 10,000 hours of training in an osteopathy-based style of bodywork. Bill is also a Systema instructor certified under Vladimir Vasiliev teaching at Systema Asheville, North Carolina.
Knee injuries are very common in martial arts and many sports. In this video session, study the professional ways to treat your knees by gentle exercise and manual practice.
What is Bill’s unique treatment approach?
It is to work with the body and the knee joints only in a comfortable position, to move the knee through very small range using the intrinsic movements of the joint, and thus lead to very effective healing without any strain during the exercise.
In this specialized class, Bill shares 5 exercises that will reset the neurology of the knee joint, allow the knee to be lined up correctly, and gain full range of motion without the pain:
– Rotation
– Forward and Back
– Meniscus
– Side to Side
– Whole Leg Rotation
Bill also explains how to release the meniscus and attend to the related body areas – hips, low back, soleus muscle, kidneys and adrenals.
You can work solo or with a partner and see the improvement right away.

I learned a lot from Bill-sensei’s professional perspective and the lecture content, which included a lot of very important information about the anatomy of the knee and self-exercises to keep the knee in good condition. I appreciate Bill-sensei’s response to my question. I learned that the hip area plays a very important role in preventing increased tension in the knee. The self-exercises for the knee that Bill-sensei taught were very simple, but I found them to be very effective depending on one’s own subtle awareness of the tension in the knee. I am grateful to Bill-sensei for sharing his expertise with us. I was reminded of what Mikhail-sensei said in the online class, “Systema students have to know everything, and to do that, you must make every effort to know all kinds of things.” In the latter half of the seminar by Vladimir-sensei, I was able to learn about the knee from movements that involve walking and other full-body movements. As every time, I learn a lot from the movements of the participants at the Toronto headquarters.

I’ve had a problem with my meniscus for quite some time now. I tried Bill’s exercises and surprisingly felt better! Less pain and more movement. Thanks. I am off for a walk!
