There is hardly anyone who has never sprained their ankle. This means our ankles are usually distorted by an old injury.

As the ankle is the foundation of the whole body, if the foundation is distorted, the whole body becomes mis-aligned. Therefore, the root of tension in your spine and shoulders may lie in your ankles.

Taka was recently visiting Systema HQ Toronto and taught a wonderful class on this topic. Enjoy this great program of ankle mobilizations, massage, and activation. Taka takes you from the simple stretches to understanding the nerve muscle interaction. He shows: the relation of your thoughts and weight distribution, relation between the calf muscles and the neck muscles, lymph drainage, and deeper strengthening of the foot joints.
